Savouring Nature

And listening with gratitude

The recording can speak for itself today, though I believe you can access the transcript that Substack generates.

And I’ve come up with this poem as well that you might enjoy.

I touch the trees..

…hear the birds…

…smell the wood…

…see its beauty, its life…

…value its life…

I am grateful for its life

I am grateful for the whole of nature…

…for all she does for us all the time.

*

Picture a bird in the sky

Imagine the view

Imagine the landscape

Imagine the vista that bird sees

I envy that opportunity birds have to be in the sky

Imagine what that bird has to teach us

What would that bird say today

To us as the human race

And to me

*

Imagine a worm

Or maybe a rat, or a mole, or a badger

All those creatures who live much of their time within the earth

Creating homes within the earth herself

Imagine what their perspective on life is

Being in the darkness of the earth

Coming up when they do and what they see here

Imagine what those creatures have to teach us

What would they say today

To us as the human race

And to me
